Here's the one I made for myself when I made the two
Tag(s) No. 5...
It's made from one 12x12 piece of pattern paper, folded.
It's purpose is to hold all the photos I took of Jesyca's surgery [no, not the actual surgery itself...they wouldn't let me;)]. The "day" of her surgery and post surgery.

I had posted awhile back that I would post the powders I use, in answer to whether I use "pearlex". I have been using these powders for years, quite a long time before pearlex found its way into mainstream scrapbooking i do dare to say.
The powders in the tall jars are actual pigments. I have more colours, but all quite "earthy" tones.
Bronzing powders:
I typically only use the same colours over and over, so I have not felt the need to venture into purchasing the "pearlex" brand. There is a combo colour set that I do like in the pearlex, so maybe one day I'll take the plunge and purchase the set.
I stamped a tag using the Versa Mark ink then brushed the pewter powder over the image. These tgas were the foundation for "Tag no. 6" of the "6 tags of Christmas".
The stamped image, although not overly visible, certainly adds some dimension to the otherwise "flat" tag. I love making projects look more complicated than they really are. ;0)

There were a couple of requests to see the inside of my "altered book" i made for Tag no. 4 (i think it was).
Here it is. As i said, it's messy, but i love it that way.
Below is a page I started working on, gesso'd the pages, leaving the image and some words I loved, visible.
I taped each piece of paper together, along the "spine" of the page. Yes, i did them individually. Then after i taped as many pages together to form a "signature" then used my aluminum tape to tape each signature into the book. It's pretty cool. I really like the variety of subject matters of the various pages I added. I also like the fact I can include whatever pages I want into a book to "alter" it. Even though a lot of the pages in the book were much larger than the actual cover i used, I simply used a ruler and tore the pages to "fit" the book. That gives them the rough edge look.

FROM NOW UNTIL MAY, YOU SHOULD USE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ASK ME ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ANYTHING YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT.
I'm not certain how often or what I'll be posting, so if there are prompts, i suspect i'll be far more likely to respond and do posts.

not so G - you ALWAYS have the right words - at least to me.
"Patience without understanding" has become my mantra!
I will miss your blog tremendously - so in June when you are here, I will be making the most of you and trying to learn everything you know!!
And the altered book - I have been loving the pace - the spurts and stops - I have managed to keep up! I'm all for the original vision - but whatever you decide suits you best, then that's how it will be. No way will I be requesting a refund - if we do no more - I've still learnt a lot and I love my book!!!
The landscape here has changed dramatically over the weekend - the sun was the brightest orange, there was NO horizon, the line between land and sea was lost - and the air was grey - and full of despair for some. People were stranded and had to race to the beaches for a Dunkirk-like rescue. Fortunately there has been no loss of life - but this is the landscape of Australia & Tasmania - 42 degrees here and the earth was on fire. With this weather, we have had bushfires raging out of control - many lit by lightning strikes. Hopefully the worst is over. We were out of the danger zone - you realise just how fragile this life is.
I am loving those shaker boxes G. You say they are 'old style' - I think old is new again!!! I found some really cute 'pop' stickers of rocket ships and aliens- and decided they needed some 'altering' - so they are now 'shaker boxes' - Ha!
G - I would really love to see the 'whole' layout that feature these shaker boxes of yours - (if they are not too personal - I know every layout is personal and has meaning- but you know what I'm asking - right?) to get a sense of the impact. You always have so many elements together which I LOVE.
Thanks to Wendy for asking to see these.

Jan, I think I'll miss my blog every once and again...but, when one's time is up, it's up. I have very, very little left to say that I think is worth saying and people will be interested in hearing, except me of course, inside my own head. :)

Very cool, now why didn't I think of tearing with a ruler ... Used my hands but turned out ok, still need to decorate the cover, procrastinated & went and saw the Hobbit in 3D and dammed if I didn't loose my mojo again
Bring in the new year with awesomeness g.... blessings and joy for the New Year and words cannot express what happiness you have filled me with through your blog, all your wonderful generosity and sharing xx

Are there any more "classes" for the Altered Existence Book?

Oh gosh G - lovely. I love the lady diving out of the ink bottle - very clever. Beautiful little tag album - I do hope Jesyca is OK now.
Inside of the mini book album - thanks - love the combination of papers - and the different textures and surface finishes - it's going to be really 'fat' by the time you have added to it.
So when you make one of these little 'albums' do you 'start' with an idea of what sort of layouts you are going to 'fill' in it? Or does it just 'evolve'? Like the altered book we are doing with you - you had sorta planned all the pages BEFORE you started with the cutting - or did you do that for our benefit? So we could learn different techniques as we went.
Thanks for the comments on the pigments - fascinating little bottles you have! I am just discovering these and ready to 'have a play'. I love the way you get the 'depth' in your art - it's all the layering - you say tag no. 6 is mostly covered - but it is what creates the dimension - very subtle -I love that!!
